Correction: The fastest time between Halstad and EGF without considering rest time was 7 hours 13 minutes and 47 seconds set by Mike Bestgen. Congratulations Mike!

The first musher can leave East Grand Forks at 10:24:15pm. As soon as teams begin leaving EGF, we will begin posting live updates again. Until that time, there won't be much to report.

Some have asked for the earliest departure times for the times currently in East Grand Forks. The teams must spend a minimum of 4 hours plus their differential time (between 0 and 27 minutes depending on starting position) in East Grand Forks.

#3 Jamie Nelson has reached East Grand Forks with 12 dogs in her team! She averaged a whopping 11.8 mph between Frog Point and East Grand Forks.

We are receiving reports of mushers getting very near East Grand Forks. If that is the case, it looks like trail speeds have increased substantially!

At this point, all mushers are back on the trail and heading towards East Grand Forks. Musher #2 Mike Bestgen just departed Frog Point after spending 3h 16m 37s resting in Frog Point.
All teams are required to make a minimum 4-hour rest period in East Grand Forks. Teams must take a total of 8 hours of rest, plus there differential time.

Team #1 led by Jenny Greger just took off from Frog Point at 16:44.38. Based on the current pace, the first teams could be into East Grand Forks as early as 7pm.

Spotters say three more teams are within 1.5 miles of Frog Point.

Spotters have sighted two teams just 1.5 miles from Frog Point. We will post who they are and their times as soon as they reach the checkpoint.

If last year's times are any indication, the first team should arrive at Frog Point around 2pm! As Frog Point spots the mushers, we'll put live updates right here. Additionally, the updated time sheet will be posted.
All 10 mushers have left Halstad cleanly and on-time! Next stop: Frog Point. We will be posting photos from the start very soon!
9:24am - Feb. 27
Mushers have added incentive this year. The fastest time between Frog Point back to Halstad will be awarded $100! Plus, there will be a $100 drawing for teams finishing out of the money.

Check back here starting at 10am Saturday morning for live updates from the race trail! Teams start leaving Halstad at 10am and begin their journey northward along the Red River.
