The trail runs 167 miles through the Red River Valley, on the Red River of the North. The race starts in Halstad, Minnesota, 50 miles north of Fargo-Moorhead. From there, mushers follow the Red River Valley – one of the world’s flattest landscapes – to East Grand Forks, Minnesota and back again to Halstad.

Registration

The race is open to teams of 8-10 dogs. We will limit the race to a maximum of 20 teams. Should we reach this 20 team limit, we will start a waiting list. A registration application is not considered complete until it has been received with the application fee.

The Trail

The race route begins in Halstad, MN and travels northward on the Red River to LaFave Park in East Grand Forks, MN. Then, the trail doubles back on itself and heads southward towards the race finish in Halstad, MN. The trail is 167 miles, as measured by GPS.
